Our Projects

Our design influences are drawn primarily from medieval English and early North American examples. Take a look at the old standing barns that still dot the countryside for examples of this vernacular style, simple rectangles with clean lines and relatively steep roof pitches. Embellished examples of this style could include L-shaped additions, dormers or enclosed entrances. Regardless of add-ons, we believe the best timber frames start out as basic rectangles and evolve from there. Having said that, we are always willing to try new things and can, and have on occasion, incorporated timber framing into more modern design styles. Whether the project is a full house or a gazebo, our design process is to work closely with the client to come up with a design that satisfies the client and the structural integrity of the frame itself. To that end, we offer engineer approved and sealed plans of the frame if requested.
